Grandismas Morning - Part 3

Tuesday, December 6, 2011

The Saturday after Thanksgiving as part of our Grandismas celebrations we all got up bright and early, which is what happens when you have little kids (or nieces and nephews).  The grandkids were all excited because it was time to open their presents from Grandma and Grandpa.

There were some very excited and happy kids (especially when Cars 2 was opened), thanks for the gifts Mom and Dad, the sidekicks love them!!
(I also really love my gift, so thank you!!)

After presents we gather for Grandismas breakfast which always includes sticky buns, wassail, and my Mom also made a delicious casserole. (but I was to busy eating to take pictures)

The idea for Grandismas came from my Dad, as our family grew Christmas morning (and the activities leading up to it) were chaos, plus we couldn't be together every year and it wasn't long before we all started staying at our own homes for Christmas.  So my parents thought of a way for them to enjoy the Grandkids (and their own kids) opening their Christmas gifts from them along with all the fun traditions we grew up with.  I love this new tradition and I am so thankful my parents thought of it.

Thanks again Mom and Dad for another very fun Grandismas!!
