A Day Inside

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Max usually spends his days outside roaming and playing with Daisey. After the kids are in bed I let him in and play with him for a bit before putting him in the laundry room for the night.

One day he decided he didn't want to spend the day outside and every time the door was opened he would dart inside.

When Hannah got home from school she was thrilled that Max was inside.

Hannah picked Max up and hauled him to the play room to play dolls, into the family room to watch cartoons, to the kitchen to get a snack, and then up to my room to watch some more cartoons while I was getting ready.

Never once letting his paws touch the floor.

He didn't try to come inside during the day again, I think he decided it was not as fun as he thought.

If you follow my instagram stream you will have noticed a new addition to our family, Max, aka Mighty Max. Rob and I have bad timing when it comes to getting new pets. Daisey joined our family one week before we made our first 16 hour road trip from Kansas to Utah, and Max joined our family a day before we left to go camping for Rob's family reunion.

Max needed a good home, our kids have been begging for a cat, and we thought it would be a fun surprise.

I think it is safe to say we are all smitten with him.

Rob and I celebrated our 10th anniversary on the 9th, that morning we decided three kids and a dog was not enough for us, we needed to get a cat.

The kids have been begging for a while for a kitten and Rob's cousin had found a litter at one of the apartments she manages and they needed homes before some of the boys living there found them and tormented them.

We instantly fell in love with Max and told Traci we would take him, we didn't tell the kids anything.

That night we loaded them into the car and drove to Traci's house for a "visit", Traci pulled the kittens out for the kids to play with, they were loving on them when we told them we were taking the grey one home with us. They were beyond thrilled.

Rob and I don't seem to have good timing when we bring pets home, we got Daisey one week before our first big trip to Utah, and Max the day before we left for his family reunion.

Max is still really little and scared but I am sure he will warm up to us. He does really well with me but the kids can still over whelm him a bit. But one things for sure, he is a very loved kitty already.
