Easter Egg Hunts

The egg hunt fun started Friday night with the Neighborhood Flashlight Egg Hunt for all the teenagers. They hide soda, candy, chips, and popcorn all over the park and then send them in with flashlights to retrieve it. Samantha was so excited she was able to participate this year.

Saturday morning bright and early was the regular egg hunt for the kids. It is always so much fun and a great excuse to spend time with our neighbors.

That afternoon we headed out to Grandma and Grandpa Morris' house for a family Easter party. We hunted eggs in the mountains, ate delicious food, and dyed eggs in the garage.

We came home tired and ready to just kick back and relax, and we may have all gone to bed a little early.

Holy Week Day 5

When I first decided for Day 5 of Holy Week we would wash each other's feet and enjoy a simple Passover meal I thought my kids would have a fit. I mean how dare I make them wash each other's feet, this is just gross!! Rob and I decided we would have everyone draw names out of a bowl to stop any complaints, but when we told the kids what we were doing they were so excited we didn't need to draw names.

My friend sells Doterra and gave me a few sample vials of the Wild Orange and once they were done washing they dried and "anointed" their feet, everyone agreed it smelled "SOOO GOOOD!!"

We discussed that Jesus washed his disciples feet because he loved them and wanted to be an example of service.

Hannah loved it so much she volunteered to wash my feet and Rob's.

My plan for dinner was to have fish, grapes, naan, honey, and grape sparkling cider. The only problem was we needed to eat some pork chops that were in the fridge and a pineapple before they went bad so we improvised. We did have the naan and sparkling cider (although not grape) to represent wine and discussed the first sacrament. It worked, but seriously next year we will do better.

Easter Sunday

The kids woke up Easter morning to their baskets, I debated giving them to them before we left for Blanding, but decided to just bring them along. Thankfully church was at 11 so our morning was not as rushed, although it was still a bit rushed trying to get pictures in.

After church we dyed eggs and got ready to head out for an Easter egg hunt.

We ended up at Dry Wash. The kids had fun hunting for eggs and then playing in the water. It was cold but they were not afraid to wade in the water and climb the rocks.

It was a fun day. We are excited to have Grandma and Grandpa closer, but we will miss spending time in Blanding.

Easter Weekend Day 1

Easter Weekend (which I know was over two weeks ago) was spent in Blanding helping Rob's parents get ready for their big move up north. Rob had found a trailer for them so we were hauling it down with us which made for a slow and interesting drive, but thankfully after 5 hours we made it safe and sound.

 We spent Saturday cleaning out the house, getting rid of furniture, and making a HUGE dump run. The entire trailer was full, and it is not a little trailer. The kids were huge helpers and  were rewarded at the end of the day with swimming in the hot tub.

It was a busy day but we were grateful to have so much done.
