Thirty One

Yesterday I turned 31 (I typed 21 on accident, hmmm what does it mean?!?!), it was one of my best birthday's to date. I was reminded how many wonderful people I have in my life. I loved the phone calls, texts, and Facebook love I received all day long. But none of that compared to all the love I received from my little family.

Hunter wore a yellow shirt because it is my favorite color, he also made my breakfast for me.

Once I got my kids on the bus I then had my "happy time", a nice long hot shower and lots of quiet time to get ready for my hot lunch date with Rob. He and Hannah took me to Magleby's, I have never been, and it was delicious!!

Hannah and I spent some time at Target and then headed to T-ball practice and then home to wait for Samantha and Rob to get home from softball practice before I opened presents.

I tend to go overboard for birthday's and Christmas because I love the excitement when my kids receive something they love, I saw that same excitement in them yesterday. Rob took them out to shop for gifts and they couldn't wait for me to open them.

I hope this doesn't sound selfish but I enjoyed them showering me with presents. I want my kids to learn to find more joy in giving than receiving, and I LOVED seeing them excited about giving.

And really, who doesn't love being showered with fun presents.

My only request was a pair of fuzzy flip flop slippers, which Hannah was happy to fulfill. Samantha found me a big measuring cup, and because she knows her Mom and how much she loves cute little kitchen tools, a tiny measuring cup. Hunter and Rob surprised me with a Ninja, which was a very happy surprise, when I make my protein shakes my blender smells like it is burning and it takes forever, the Ninja had my shake made this morning in 30 seconds.

(I handed my camera to Rob and Samantha for the night, some of these are blurry but I honestly love them, it is nice to have a little bit of me documented for once)

We ended the night at the waffle truck, my other request of the day, and it was so so good!!

I am pretty sure 31 is going to be a great year as long as these four are by my side!!
