Weekly Peak ~ January 15th - 21st

We spent the weekend in St. George helping my parents move, snuggling my sweet new nephew Bentley, and securing my spot as his favorite aunt. I am head over heels in love with that cute boy.

Monday the kids and I had the day off so I painted Samantha's room with a can of paint we found in my parents storage room. It was close enough to the color she wanted that we went with it. Oh man it is bright, but she loves it.

Tuesday Samantha headed up to Sundance to go skiing, Hunter and Hannah went to school, and I went back to work. But first we had to try out my new selfie stick.

Rob spent Tuesday night putting up the blinds in my great room windows. I am so loving them and how nice they make the room look.

Did I mention Raquel broke her arm today while they were at Sundance on her first run down. Poor girl she has been looking forward to snowboarding all year and now she can't go with Samantha on her birthday. They are both pretty disappointed.

Tuesday night we took the Beehives out to do a random act of service. They wrote notes in balloons and then we went to Costco and gave them to random strangers. It was so much fun and we all enjoyed retelling our stories when we got back to the church.

I took Hannah to pick up her new bifocal lens. They were showing her how to use them, she covered up the good eye, and started reading the small print on the paper. We all stood in amazement as she read. I am so hopeful for better eye sight.

Wednesday was the first day of tech club after school and Hunter loved every minute of it. They are designing cookie cutters that will be printed on a 3D printer and Hunter wanted to practice drawing in the program they were using so his would be perfect.

I had Rob frame up Samantha's bedroom window before he left town for the weekend so I can paint while he is gone. Framing the windows has been a bit of work but I am so in love with them when they are done that I don't mind at all. Just wish I had more time so I could finish the 9 we have left upstairs.

Thursday Hunter woke up with a cough, I kept him home from school and then worked from home. I love having a job that will be flexible and understanding when I need to be with my kids.

I took blinds into Home Depot to get them trimmed down and thankfully they could. The girls were in heaven because I dropped them off at the mall to shop while I went to Home Depot. Thank heavens for texting so I always knew where they were.

Weekly Peak ~ January 8th - 14th

Rob and I went out for our Saturday shooting date and brought Hunter along with us, the girls were off playing with their friends. It was so nice because the house was completely clean, including the floors mopped, before we left so we could just go and enjoy the afternoon together. Hunter and I decided we needed to stick together while we learn to shoot because Rob is good and kind of a show off, good thing we love him.

Sunday was one of those days, I just wasn't feeling it all day,  I was tired and felt like junk. I had planned on making dinner but never took a roast out to thaw and then just didn't want to cook. Rob was my hero and jumped right in to make chocolate chip pancakes and eggs.

Samantha wanted to take pictures of Daisey, she did a good job.

On Tuesday I got my pictures and filled out my passport application, on Wednesday I dropped it off, and on Thursday Rob booked our flights to Paris. I am SO EXCITED, and can't believe it is finally happening.

Tuesday night was New Beginnings, the theme was Let Your Light Shine, and I was in love with the cute yellow dessert table. All of the leaders were given a value to speak on and then we would turn on our lamp for that value. I sure love Personal Progress, and Young Women's, and I am so happy that is where I get to serve!!

On Thursday we found out that my Grandma's cancer has returned, it is hard to think of a world without that amazing lady, but I don't want her to suffer at all. I asked Rob to go to the temple with me and it was the best thing for my soul. I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and was so thankful for the blessings of the temple and for eternal families.

I love that Hunter is always so willing to help Hannah with her math, today he was helping her with her homework and practicing multiplication facts with her.

Weekly Peak ~ January 1st - 7th, 2016

Rob and I decided on New Year's day we wanted to go do something, we asked the kids if they wanted to go out shooting, but they were all enjoying a pajama day playing video games, so we decided to go without them and call it date night. It was so cold!! But we had a good time breaking in my new gun. We went to Cafe Rio for dinner and then when we returned home Rob taught me how to break my gun down and clean it. It was so much fun we may repeat this date night a few more times in the future.

Organizing Hannah's room was on the top of our list for the new year so on Saturday Rob and I took a trip to IKEA (again the kids didn't want to go) and bought her new bunk beds and storage cubbies. I spent 4 hours putting everything together and organizing her room. It was a mess but it felt and looked so much better by the time we were done.

Sunday was our first week of 9am church, we loved it!! The kids were all playing together that afternoon and we went to check on them and found this. So young and naive letting their sister tie them up like that.

It is a New Year goal to make sure I am off work by 2 so I can come home and read for a bit before the kids came home from school, give me a minute to relax and switch gears. I took this picture and sent it to Rob as proof that I was actually doing it. Currently I am reading Consider the Fork, such a fun read about the history and technology of cooking.

Hannah had a follow up appointment with Dr. Wilkinson, the surgeon, to check on her eye. Her eye sight registered higher than it ever has and we are so hopeful we can get her to the point where she is using it. He is sending us back to Dr. Yeates to see about some more patching, let me tell you how excited she is about that.

We have started planning Samantha's family birthday party for Superbowl Sunday, she has chosen a pineapple theme and it has been fun to run with it. I figure it is never too early to start party prep.

Also while I was working on all the birthday prep we turned on The Sandlot, the kids didn't think it would be good, but Hunter decided it was his favorite movie by the time it was over.
