The Weekend

We spent our weekend working on projects, somehow I have finally convinced Rob to start on my long list of them. I think the four week deadline to Hannah's birthday somehow set the ball rolling, so we started on her big present, a desk for her room. I have a plan to make an art station in her room, I just have to convince Rob he wants to paint her walls but that isn't working for me yet.

I had drawn up my idea of exactly what I wanted and Rob designed it, figured out what he needed, and got to work. I know I shouldn't be amazed at how great it is, but seriously it turned out just like I was imagining. I sure love that husband of mine!!

And bonus, he is ready to get started on the next project, lockers in our mudroom, woohoo!! We have been taping walls to get an idea and then modifying the plans I gave him for those.

Rob is also helping Samantha and I make Hannah a doll bed. Samantha has been wanting to tie a blanket for Hannah and we figured a small doll blanket is the perfect place to start, so we should throw in a doll bed too.

The kids went back and forth between helping Rob and I, doing their own thing, and being forced to help clean the house. As much as I love a fun adventure with this family of mine, a chill three day weekend at home is also the best!!

Monday night we made banana splits as a reward for working so hard all weekend and for the kids having to put up with me teaching them how to clean the house. It was the perfect end to a long weekend.
