13th Anniversary

13 years has flown by, and there is no on I would have rather spent them with. I love this guy so much, and since I refrain from gushing on Facebook I don't have to hold back here.

In the last couple of months there have been moments when I am sitting with Rob and it will hit me, Rob had a stroke and I almost lost him. It is then I will snuggle up as close as I can to him and thank Heavenly Father he is still here with me. I couldn't imagine my life without him, he is my best friend, he knows me better than anyone and listens to all my crazy and still loves me. I am extremely lucky to have him and I can only pray that we have many many more years together.

He is my rock, one of the hardest things the last few months was having to make decisions on my own, not having him completely there to work through problems with, it is not something I ever want to do again. He is my partner in crime, we tell each other everything, good and bad, and we always find a way to work together.

I am so grateful for how hard he works for our family, it has not been easy for him to go back to work, and he is tired a lot, but he never stops. And I am so very grateful for everything he does.

Our anniversary fell on a Sunday this year, so we decided to celebrate on Saturday. Rob reserved passes at Sundance so we could ride the lift all the way to the top. We watched all the zip liners and talked about doing that next year. The idea excites me and terrifies me all at the same time.

After our lift ride we drove to Heber (my favorite city) and had dinner at a very yummy Mexican restaurant. It was the perfect date.

Today is our actual anniversary and we spent the day doing our normal Sunday stuff and cooking dinner together. We tried a new recipe, chili relanos, which were delicious and took a drive out to see Katie's new house. I really did enjoy the normalness of the entire day.

Here's to 13 more wonderful years, and hopefully 13 after that, and 13 more, and maybe 13 more after that.

A Lunch Date in Heber

We have been sick for the last two weeks, stuffed up noses, coughs and worst of all a fever that would not go away. It has not been pretty. On Saturday Rob suggested we drive to Heber for lunch, it would be a chance to get out of the house and out of the nasty air that has filled the valley.

Of course I never pass up a trip to Heber, I love it there, if it wasn't a 40 minute commute one way for Rob I would consider moving there. Maybe when we retire, right babe!!

It was just the break we needed. Of course we stopped at the Dairy Keen for lunch and then at Walmart to pick up a few things, just so we could make our trip last a little longer.

Deer Creek & Old Friends

My friend Britny was here visiting from Alaska, we met when we lived in Homer and our paths ended up following each other until we moved to Kansas and they moved to South Weber. For some reason we only got together once while we both lived in Utah before she moved to Alaska. When she came to spend some time here this summer we found an afternoon to meet at Deer Creek. It didn't take long for our kids to run off together and play while we sat and chatted.

(the only negative was the snake we saw and then another guy telling us they had seen a bunch around there. I HATE snakes and spent the entire time looking over my shoulder waiting for more to appear, thankfully we didn't see another one.)

After the lake we headed into Heber to visit the Dairy Keen for milkshakes, have I mentioned before how much I love The Dairy Keen.

It was so much fun, I am sad she lives all the way in Homer now, but it is a great reason for a visit.

Lazy Days of Summer

We have fallen into a very lazy routine around here, just about the time I was going to attempt to get us all back on track for school to start, my sidekicks have decided to start sleeping in.  I would like to think their little bodies are trying to recover from all the fun we have had this summer and gear up for school, but really I think we are just being lazy.  The only one not benefiting from this new routine is Rob, poor guy can't enjoy the last few lazy days of summer with us. Although if he could I am assuming they would not be so lazy anymore.

Rob comes home from work, we eat dinner, and then he asks if we want to go and explore (fill in the blank).  Monday night we loaded up to go check out Deer Creek, which only made us want a boat more than we already do, if that is possible.  We ended up driving around to the other side and stopped at the tracks to check it out.  We didn't stay for long because we were being eaten by mosquitoes, but long enough for a bit of fun Morris style.

Last night while I was at a meeting Rob decided he needed to take the kids to go check out Payson lakes, I came home to 3 tired kids who smelled horribly of fish.  I told him we would not be returning to swim, ICK!!
